This continuing education course, pre-approved by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), is designed for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselors seeking to better understand the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in professional practice while earning continuing education credits.
Led by Dr. Michael O’Brien, Ed.D., CRC, CVE, a rehabilitation professional with more than 40 years of experience in public and private VR, this course examines emerging research on artificial intelligence and its growing role in rehabilitation counseling. Participants will explore the risks and benefits of AI technologies, review current ethical guidance from the American Counseling Association (ACA) and CRCC, and learn how AI tools can be used responsibly to support effective counseling practice.

- Understanding foundational artificial intelligence terminology and concepts relevant to rehabilitation counseling.
